The incident reportedly took place at 8pm in the games room of Sher-e-Bangla Hall of Buet. Kabirul Islam said: “When we entered the hall, a group of Chhatra League activists appeared there and asked the reason for our visit. They were released after senior leaders of Chhatra League and members of Dhaka University Journalists Association (DUJA) intervened, the journalists said. The Chhatra League men assaulted us even after we proved our identity,” added Mehedi Hasan. When contacted, Buet unit Chhatra League President Jami Us Sani denied that any one was assaulted.
