Liz Glasier has recently achieved her third level black belt and is ready to take on another bit of her father’s legacy. “We grew up with it, it was part of our family but the karate members were also part of our family,” she said. Glasier said she passed her shodan (black belt) in 2013, her nidan in 2016 and her most recent, sandan, this year. “There’s just so much stuff to learn and it’s not a rush, it's a gradual thing.”The sandan grading is a closed grading, she said.
