Holly Hollingsworth didn’t think much about heart disease until she had it, and she wants to make sure others don’t. As the coordinator of the WomenHeart Support Group of The Villages, Hollingsworth passionately educates anyone who can about women and heart disease. This heart health message gets an extra boost every February, when it’s American Heart Month. Coronary artery disease is caused by the buildup of plaque in the arteries. “Family history is certainly important in predicting the development of heart disease,” said Dr. Robert Herman, cardiologist at The Villages Health.
