For the majority of the past 13 years, when the NFL Draft ended, player acquisition in Green Bay ended, too. Instead, first-year general manager Brian Gutekunst is taking a much different approach, one in which player procurement is clearly a year-long process. Gutekunst signed cornerbacks Tramon Williams and Davon House in the second wave of free agency. So the Packers signed Lewis and Bell, who could both play major roles in 2018. And instead of relying on a young, unproven player, Gutekunst chose to let Bell compete for the job.
