The Menkaure Pyramid Review Committee (MPRC) has rejected the re-installation of the granite casing blocks scattered around the base of the pyramid for thousands of years. The scientific committee was chaired by the renowned archaeologist and former Minister of Antiquities, Dr. Zahi Hawass. The committee prepared a detailed scientific report on its findings. The committee housed several distinguished Egyptian and foreign experts in engineering and Egyptian archaeology, especially those specializing in pyramids restoration. The committee housed as well specialists from the United States, the Czech Republic, and Germany.
