Thailand waiting for Malaysia's decision on 11 detained Uighurs - Nation


BANGKOK: Thailand will wait for Malaysia's decision over the fate of 11 Uighur men detained following their escape from a Thai detention centre in in November last year. He was asked if Thailand would request Malaysia for the repatriation of the captured Uighur men. Eleven of them were said to have been arrested by the Malaysian authorities later while the rest were nabbed in Thailand. Bangkok had said between 100 to 200 Uighur were currently being detained in Thailand. On Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that China had officially requested Malaysia to repatriate 11 of the Uighur men.
