The employees went on an indefinite strike on Monday morning demanding a salary hike. When asked, Teletalk Employee Welfare Association Secretary General Md Kamruzzaman said: “We, the Teletalk employees, have been continuing our protest since Monday morning. Today [yesterday], State Minister Tarana Halim came around 12pm and assured us that our demands will be met. “She also requested us to start working again and responding to her call, we postponed our indefinite strike.”During the strike, the employees demanded their basic salaries to be raised by 100% immediately. “We want 100% hike.”The Dhaka Tribune called the Teletalk Managing Director Gias Uddin Ahmed for comments but the call remained unanswered.
