Highlanders coach Tony Brown is predicting Flynn Thomas will play Super Rugby earlier than many may have originally expected. The teenage Southland hooker, who is in his first year out of school, has been signed by the Highlanders on a three year apprenticeship training contract. The three year apprenticeship is in place to get promising players up to speed before playing Super Rugby. "We have been really impressed with Flynn, he is a quality rugby player and he hasn't looked out of place training alongside Super Rugby players.
