KUALA LUMPUR: A Barisan Nasional lawmaker has asked the Government to revoke the licences of international hotel operators for discriminating against Muslim women who don the hijab (headscarf) at work. Kinabatangan MP Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin (pic) said it did not make sense for hotels to discriminate in such a manner as there many women professionals in the country who wear the hijab. “What is the problem in wearing the tudung? If the woman is attractive, she will remain attractive even with a tudung. The Malaysia Hotel Associations (MAH), in response, said that this has been the uniform policy practised in international hotel chains for a long time.
