Tata Motors, one of India’s leading automotive companies, has announced that its domestic sales in September 2023 reached a total of 82,023 units. Of the total sales, commercial vehicle sales saw a growth of 13%, reaching 37,214 units in September 2023 compared to 32,979 units in the same month last year. However, passenger vehicle sales experienced a decrease of 6%, with 44,809 units sold in September 2023 compared to 47,654 units in September 2022. Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., attributed the strong performance of passenger vehicle sales to new product launches and pre-festive demand. Overall, Tata Motors’ performance in September 2023 demonstrates its resilience in the automotive market, with steady domestic sales and significant growth in the electric vehicle segment.
