Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday said that terrorist elements would not be allowed to promote their narrative or ideology, reiterating the government’s resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism. Addressing a conference of the Qaumi Paigham-e-Aman Committee in Islamabad, the minister said the entire nation was united in its determination to root out terrorism and that the challenge would be confronted through both kinetic and non-kinetic means. Tarar said terrorists had nothing to do with Islam, Pakistan or humanity, and stressed that their distorted narrative must be countered at all levels. He said the Paigham-e-Aman Committee was an inclusive body with representation from minorities as well, adding that it was the state’s responsibility to protect the rights of minorities. The information minister said the fully empowered committee would play an effective role in countering extremist narratives and strengthening social harmony across the country.
