Instant messaging platform WhatsApp is going to introduce a major change to its Status feature, after which status updates will be moved to another location. While WhatsApp Status is not as central a feature on Meta’s platforms as Stories, it appears that the company is going to give this feature a more central role in the messaging app. A few weeks ago, WhatsApp Beta Info reported that the latest WhatsApp Beta version released for Android indicated that status updates would be moved to the main chat list view. Now, according to this website, there is a reference to this change in WhatsApp, which is on test flight, however, it is not currently available to users.
