Dialogue, however difficult, is preferable to destruction

Sustainable peace requires more than crisis management–it demands long-term commitment to justice, accountability, and the dignity of all people in the region. Iran seeks sanctions relief, recognition of its regional role, and assurances linked to developments in Lebanon. The most realistic outcome of the Islamabad talks may be an agreement to continue negotiating — a pause that prevents a return to open conflict. For now, hope rests on a simple but powerful premise: that dialogue, however difficult, is preferable to destruction. If Islamabad can help sustain that dialogue, it will have already made a meaningful contribution to regional and global stability.
