(File Photo)The recently released Health and Disability System Review report poses a huge threat to Taranaki, New Plymouth National MP Jonathan Young says. Another recommendation in the report was creating a new health authority, Health NZ, to take control of the health system. Stuff-co-nz Māori Party leader Debbie Ngarewa-Packer believes the proposal would make it even harder for Māori to engage with health services. With the introduction of a Māori health authority to sit alongside Health NZ and the Ministry of Health, and centralising the DHBs, Ngarewa-Packer feared Māori would suffer a double hit.
