The Head of the High Council of State, Mohammed Takala, met on Tuesday with the Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Gaderboh, to discuss the state’s general budget for 2025. The meeting reviewed the challenges and difficulties facing the implementation of public spending items amid the current economic and financial conditions, as well as the observations recorded in the Authority’s oversight reports. Discussions also covered the possibility of launching early talks on the 2026 budget, with the aim of preparing a unified general budget in accordance with the budget law. This would help strengthen fiscal discipline, unify institutional tracks related to public finance management, and enhance financial and administrative oversight tools, including the monitoring of executed contracts in line with applicable legislation. The meeting also touched on procedures related to oversight work and the importance of reinforcing the role of supervisory bodies in monitoring public spending, ensuring transparency, and promoting sound resource management to serve the public interest and safeguard public funds.
