MANILA, Philippines — Filipino Olympian, politician, and actor Monsour del Rosario on Friday offered an advice to the parents of a junior high school student who was caught in a viral video using martial arts to assault another student. In a strongly worded social media post, Del Rosario told the attacker’s parents that their son is a “failed representation” of taekwondo, which he described as a “beautiful sport.”“Every aspect of the viral video was hideous, weak and unacceptable,” Del Rosario, a taekwondo champion, wrote. The Philippine Taekwondo Association on Thursday condemned the bullying incident caught in the viral video, saying “this is not what Taekwondo instills to its practitioners and is a serious matter that we as an association stand against." Ateneo officials and a children’s rights group have called on the public not to share the video. In a statement released on Thursday night, ADMU president Jose Ramon Villarin said the school administration was not treating the matter lightly.
