Fines issued to TTC riders raise concerns of racial bias, July 2Isiah Lea receives a ticket for not tapping his Presto card on the streetcar. He claims that the reader was not working. If true, then everyone that tried to board would have stepped off and the streetcar would be travelling totally empty. I suggest that the driver hand out “passes” for these events stating that the Presto reader was not working, and the rider has a “pass.” To just ignore it gives rise to these unfair problems. Law-abiding people who pay their share could perhaps be given equal space to laud the benefits of public transit.
