Dave Dombrowski has won two World Series championships, four pennants, seven division titles and a pair of wild cards. The Red Sox planned on experimenting with a bullpen-by-committee this year, and so far it has been a complete failure. There was a period when the Tigers were considered perennial contenders for the World Series. With Kimbrel assuming all ninth-inning duties, the Red Sox went on to win the division each of the next three years. This is, at least temporarily, the best solution the Red Sox can come up with.
