A 16-year-old boy was trampled to death by three stray elephants that invaded farms in Angata Barikoi area of Trans Mara West subcounty on Tuesday. The OCPD said if the results reveal that the boy was killed by the elephants, his family will be compensated by the Kenya Wildlife Service. Area OCPD Alfred Muthua said the elephants had invaded several green maize plantations after which members of the public notified KWS officers. Kipyegon Koech, a student at Oldonyorok Secondary School, was found by locals who were assessing damage done by the animals. "They managed to chase away the elephants [and when] they were assessing the damage done in the farms, they came across the body of the deceased," he said.
