Hyenas mauled a 42 year-old man on Monday June 27, 2016 at Kandisi area in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County. In a press statement on Wednesday, KWS said that a post-mortem examination will help to determine whether the man was already dead before the hyena mauled his body. KWS further clarified that the man could have been mauled by a hyena and not a lion as reported in various sections of the media. They also said they will investigate whether the death was as a result of an attack from the animal. Area residents want the wildlife agency to deal with animals straying from the Nairobi National Park to the villages.
