The news brings me a sense of deja vu as my former schools SK St Thomas and SMK St Thomas in Kuantan, which were built on land belonging to St Thomas Church, faced similar a predicament some years ago. SK St Thomas and SMK St Thomas, located about 200m from the Pahang State Secretariat, were sitting on 2.4ha land in Jalan Gambut. But in the case of SK St Thomas and SMK St Thomas, the Pahang Education Department vacated the schools after a court tussle with the parish priest of St Thomas Church. Both SK St Thomas and SMK St Thomas went into afternoon sessions, causing their enrolment to drop. The old boys of SK St Thomas and SMK St Thomas have been visiting their old schools regularly and fondly reminiscing about the good times spent there.
