Prof Kombo takes over from the outgoing VC Joseph Galgalo, whose two term has come to an end. Prof Kombo becomes the third VC to lead the university. Rev Sapit said after a marathon recruitment process the council settled on Prof Kombo as the next VC. Prof Galgalo, 54, who joined St Paul’s University in 2002 made history by becoming the youngest VC to head a university from Northern Kenya when he took office in 2011 at the age of 45.
