By WAWERU WAIRIMU More by this AuthorA businessman who allegedly assaulted a Meru-based lawyer who was assessing a parcel of disputed land near the Isiolo Airport roadblock has been charged in court. The lawyer was in company of his client, Isaack Muriira, personal assistant Wilfred Murithi and driver Martin Mwenda when the confrontation ensued. BODILY HARMIt was reported that the accused persons also robbed Mr Muriira of Sh1,500 and mobile phone all valued at Sh16, 500 and assaulted Mr Mwenda and Mr Muriithi occasioning bodily harm. The Isiolo court had on June 22 issued orders for the status quo to be upheld until the mentioning of the case on July 21 when further directions will be issued. Magistrate Mungai directed that the suspects be detained at Isiolo Police Station to await court ruling on bail scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2020.
