Arifur Rahman, 26, was picked up from Ambagan on Tuesday morning, said Khulshi police OC Sheikh Mohammad Nasir Uddin. Arif works at a shopping centre in Khulshi neighbourhood, he told bdnews24.com. The plaintiff said she had come to know Arif as she frequented the shopping mall where he works. "Arif took her to a residential hotel in the city on Sunday night and raped her," the OC said citing the case that the victim started on Monday. A magistrate sent Arif to jail pending trial after he was produced in his court on Tuesday, added the OC.
