The dead are 18-year-old Md Sohel and 17-year-old Harun-Ur-Rashid, residents of a village in Moheshpur Upazila. Prahalad Haldar, a ward member of Nepa Union in the district, said the incident was reported to him around 9am Tuesday. A patrol team of Nadia-based BSF opened fire after the boys crossed the zero point into the Indian territory on Monday night, said local witnesses. When contacted, Border Guard Bangladesh or BGB said a flag meeting had been called. BGB Jhenaidah 58 Battalion's Director Lt Col Zillur Rahman said details would be disclosed after the flag meeting.
