A Southland highway has reopened late this afternoon after a fatal crash involving two cars. Emergency services were called to the crash in Old Coach Rd (State Highway 93), in Otaraia in Gore District near the intersection of Kaiwera Rd, at 11am, police said. A St John spokesman said one person was taken to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition. Police said about 4.30pm that State Highway 93 had reopened. The Serious Crash Unit had been notified.
