After 14 years, retiring South Taranaki librarian Pam Jones has organised her last Taranaki secondary schools literary challenge. The organiser of the annual Taranaki secondary schools literary challenge has run the event for one last time – after the coronavirus pandemic delayed her retirement plans. South Taranaki librarian Pam Jones had been planning to visit Rome, but Covid-19 prompted her to put her retirement off for a few weeks. South Taranaki librarian Pam Jones had expected to be winging her way to Rome on Wednesday but instead spent the day in the company of teenagers from high schools around Taranaki. This year, eight teams from six Taranaki schools took part, answering questions from five categories based on New Zealand-written books.
