A man of South Asian descent abandons his 25-year-old female friend to die in a blazing car and hails a cab after crashing his posh car on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on Friday, reports the New York Daily News. The charred body of victim, identified as Harleen Grewal of Astoria, Queens, was recovered after the firefighters put out the blaze. According to witnesses, 23-year-old Saeed Ahmad was weaving in and out of traffic when his car hit the central reservation in the left lane, spinning out of control. Ahmad’s brother, Waheed Ahmad, 21, claimed Saeed had tried helping Grewal get out of the car when his arms and neck got burned, pointing out as proof that Saeed tried to assist the victim. According to the NY Daily News, police is yet to confirm where Ahmad and Grewal had been or were coming from.
