After two and a half hours of discussion with the commission, Kader Siddique came out of the talks around 2pm on Monday. Kader Siddique said they boycotted the talks because "if Ziaur Rahman restored the multiparty democracy, someone had killed it first". "The CEC can't say that Ziaur Rahman re-established democracy and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had killed it. "He has made a reckless comment," Kader Siddique remarked. After coming out of the conference room, Kader Siddique said the CEC had made the comment about Zia 'without consulting the other commissioners'.
