‘When the firsts lockdown was announced, I thought it would be done and dusted in a couple of months. I found the first five months really challenging; like other families, we had to juggle work and childcare as schools and nurseries were closed. Not having our families near us at such a worrying time was tough, especially as our parents are older now. In stark contrast, the British Prime Minister was playing down the pandemic and missed important Cabinet Office briefings on the crisis. What I would give for my mother’s Sunday roast followed by a glass of Guinness in McDonough’s or Gilna’s pub!
