City Status Group 'outraged' at PANCR funding failure

The Northern Port Access Route has 'the potential to transform the northern side of what is currently Ireland's largest town, soon to become the next city,' said Anna McKenna, Chairperson of the Drogheda City Status GroupThe Drogheda City Status Group (DCSG) has slammed last week's Government decision to 'bypass Drogheda once again'. 'It has the potential to transform the northern side of what is currently Ireland's largest town, soon to become the next city,' said Anna McKenna, Chairperson of the Drogheda City Status Group. 'In the middle of the country's worst housing crisis, it offers almost 5,000 new homes - so is of national, strategic importance. Ms McKenna spoke out following Minister Darragh O'Brien's announcement that projects in Dundalk, Cavan and Monaghan would receive funding, while the long-waited PANCR was being 'side-lined'. 'Every TD, Councillor and political party member in the Greater Drogheda area needs to demand that the PANCR is added to the list of projects being supported.'
