The town's council meeting on Jan. 5 had just wrapped up when Coun. The next day, a "mortified" Brennan emailed an apology to council, McKenna said. At the town's next meeting on Jan. 12, council decided to suspend Brennan from council and committee meetings for 45 days with pay. Smiths Falls councillor Jay Brennan was heard uttering profanities during the livestream moments after the council meeting on Jan. 5 ended.
