A former captain of the West Indies, Walsh's last visit to Calcutta had been for the opening ceremony of the 1996 World Cup. "I couldn't see much of the skyline, but the city's traffic has certainly increased," Walsh told The Telegraph on Tuesday evening, moments after reaching the Oberoi Grand. Walsh declined to be drawn into a detailed comment on two-time World Cup winners West Indies having to qualify for the 2019 edition. "I wouldn't like to get into the shocking or not shocking discussion... Not get into the West Indies having to qualify... Zimbabwe too are in the qualifiers... [The West Indies could surely do with plenty of good wishes.
