Six women rescued from rapists in Kiambu amid outrage

Six mentally challenged women from one family were rescued in Kabete, Kiambu county from men - among them their father - taking advantage of their situation to sexually abuse them. The women, four sisters aged between 15 and 30 and two girls aged 10 and 11 years - born of one of the four sisters- were rescued from Kiangari village by anti-gender based violence activists on Thursday. Kiambu woman representative Annah Nyokabi, who has stepped in to save the girls, condemned the heinous act. "It is unfortunate that any person would choose to abuse these girls because of their ignorance," she said. The woman rep asked residents to look out for vulnerable groups amid growing cases of domestic and sexual abuse.
