more-inThe Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has set an ambitious plans to take its annual production of coal to 85 million tonnes from the present 62 million tonnes in the next five years, while increasing power generation to 2,500 MW from the existing 1,200 MW. Speaking at the company’s Republic Day celebrations, at the company's head office here, he said since 2014-15, production of coal had increase by about 25% to 52 million tonnes. The 1,200 MW thermal power plant set up at Jaipur in Mancherial district with ₹8,250 crore was also earning ₹3,500 crore a year from energy sale, he said. The company plans to set up another thermal power generation unit of 800 MW capacity at Jaipur in Mancherial district. With 500 MW solar power generation over the next five years across the mining area would take the company's capacity to 2,500 MW, he explained.
