Shrek fans have just learned startling fact about ogre's accent - 19 years later

The movie, starring Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz was released back in 2001 and has inspired several sequels. But fans of the film have just discovered something rather shocking 19 years on from its release. It turns out, Shrek wasn't originally going to have that iconic Scottish accent. According to Distractify.com the American accent didn't sit well with Myers and he wanted "Shrek's personality to clash with villain Lord Farquaad, who has a posh English accent". Fans say the clip is also available to watch on the Shrek DVD bonus features.
