Senate President Vicente Sotto III congratulated Bersamin following his appointment to replace retired Chief Justice Teresita de Castro. She said she was elated with the development as she also believed that Bersamin will be an effective Chief Justice. Bersamin is the 25th Chief Justice and is expected to lead the SC until Oct. 17, 2019.
