SEGAMBUT MP Hannah Yeoh has suggested that the promised housing for Bukit Kiara longhouse residents be built within the current longhouse site, while preserving the remaining parts of Taman Rimba Kiara (TRK) as a green lung. However, she said the matter was still subject to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s investigation on an alleged conflict of interest involving TRK’s proposed development. She said negotiations on the proposed development at TRK were still ongoing. On April 20, StarMetro highlighted the plight of the families who have been living in the Bukit Kiara longhouse for nearly 40 years. The proposed project covers apartment units for the longhouse residents and condomi­niums.
