Loke: Malaysia committed to JB-S’pore rail project - Nation

SINGAPORE: Malaysia is committed to continuing the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link (RTS) project despite asking for a six-month extension from Singapore, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke. It was reported that Malaysia requested a six-month suspension of the project to review certain terms of the agreement. Khaw said although the bilateral agreement did not support any suspension, in the spirit of bilateral cooperation, Singapore would work on the supplementary agreement. “Like in the case of High Speed Rail bilateral agreement, we can work on amendments or what we call the supplementary agreement. “So, I think the first step is to finalise and sign the supplementary agreement, which we hope will be done soon,” said Khaw.
