Security act curbs lifted in Sungai KolokNARATHIWAT: The cabinet has agreed to lift the Internal Security Act (ISA) designation in Sungai Kolok district, citing improved security situation in the area. Deputy government spokeswoman Lalida Persvivatana said on Sunday the decision followed an assessment by the Emergency Situation Administration Committee, which found conditions in the district had improved sufficiently to allow certain restrictions to be eased. However, enhanced security measures will remain in place in 19 districts across Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, and Songkhla provinces to ensure monitoring and effective oversight, she said. The change reflects an effort to balance security needs with local recovery.
