Seawall to protect homes won't go ahead this year after two of 18 residents refused to fund it

The property owners would be able to pay their share over a period of up to five years through a targeted rate. In order to get the council funding in the 2022/23 financial year they would need all 18 owners to agree. It would be owned by the 18 property owners. All 18 property owners had agreed, in 2019, that a continuous wall covering all properties was the best solution. In the meantime the 18 properties will remain at a higher level of risk to the effects of coastal erosion.
