A season-best points haul from Steven Adams could not prevent the Oklahoma City Thunder's five-game win streak coming to an end at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers. The Kiwi big man produced an impressive all-round display, leading his team with 15 rebounds (including nine offensive boards) to edge his individual battle with Philadelphia's All-Star centre Joel Embiid (18 points, nine rebounds). Josh Richardson top-scored for the home team with 23 points, receiving strong support from Tobias Harris (18), Embiid and Ben Simmons (17). Dennis Schroeder added 21 points off the bench for the Thunder, with Chris Paul and Danilo Gallinari chiming in with 18 points each. Oklahoma City responded after the break as they proceeded to chip away at the deficit, coming within a single point midway through the final quarter.
