A Marlborough teenager is making history by swimming 123km around Queen Charlotte Sound - the equivalent of five Cook Strait crossings. The top competitive swimmer is undertaking the marathon to raise awareness of mental health and has managed to reach the target of raising $50,000 on Tuesday. Everybody knows someone that is affected by either suicide in their family or mental health," Glover said. Pita Pit is one of the swim's sponsors and has been sending food to him every day, Glover said. The purpose of the trust was to enable young people access mental health support easily without having to be on the waiting list for too long.
