The new rules require those from visa waiver countries to have an approved NZeTA before they enter New Zealand. "The NZeTA visa waiver page states you can apply for the NZeTA if you have the right to reside permanently in the UK. Van Wyngaardt and Luzynska are not the only ones to have been caught out by the new rules. NZeTAs can be requested via the free app downloadable from the Apple Store or Google Play for NZ$9, or from the INZ website for NZ$12.
