It may seem a genteel sport, but competitors at the World Golf Croquet World Team Championship say the passion for creating magic is as fierce as any sporting code. The top eight nations in the sport have descended on the Nelson Hinemoa Croquet Club for this week's Tier 1 event. The seven-day event is one of six world events held by the World Croquet Federation. England competitor Stephen Mulliner is secretary general of the World Croquet Federation and Hall of Famer who began playing croquet as an undergraduate at Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1975.
