Police have detained a youth for raping a schoolgirl of his own village in Sadar upazila of Gopalganj district. Khalid Miah, 25, from Gopinathpur village, forcefully picked up the eighth grader from her way to a private tutor’s house around 8am on Monday. He took the girl to a nearby solitary place and violated her, according to relatives of the victim. The victim was sent to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital for medical examination and treatment. Doctor Fariha Zaman told the Dhaka Tribune that a medical board has already conducted the medical test on the victim.
