This week's Hollywood premiere of Disney movie Pete's Dragon follows more than two years of work by Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) to capitalise on tourism opportunities presented by the remake of the children's classic which was filmed here. Other New Zealand locations include Rotorua's redwoods forest, Wellington and Queenstown. -A Dragon's eye view of New Zealand video, with special effects by Weta Digital, is a scenic fly-over of film locations that appear in the movie. TNZ director of trade PR and major events Rene de Monchy said this was the first time TNZ had worked with Disney and it wanted to ensure New Zealand was clearly attributed as the home of Pete's Dragon.
