KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia wrapped up their lawn bowls campaign in style at the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games by winning the women's singles gold medal through Emma Firyana Saroji (pic). The 2015 World Champion of Champions singles winner Emma defeated Brunei's Amali Matali 21-11 in the final to end Malaysia's jinx in the women's singles competition at the SEA Games. In the four previous editions, Malaysia managed to clinch three silvers (1999 Brunei, 2001 KL, 2007 Korat) and a bronze (2005 Manila) in the women's singles. The 2017 World Cup singles silver medal winner defeated Singapore's Lee Yuan Min 21-6 in the final at the National Lawn Bowls Centre in Bukit Kiara. Overwhelming favourites Malaysia won golds in the women's fours, triples (men and women) and pairs (men and women) events.
