The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to hear the bail plea of Congress leader P. Chidambaram in the INX media money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. Chidambaram had challenged the Delhi high court’s Friday order that had denied him bail in the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. Sibal said the 74-year-old former union minister has been in jail for the past 90 days, and requested for an early listing of the case. The Supreme Court on 23 October, had granted bail to Chidambaram in separate case filed by CBI in the INX media corruption case. The money laundering case by ED dates back to 2018.
