Ruto heads to Kirinyaga, all eyes on 2022

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo’s remarks that Central will have to discuss how to engage with Deputy President William Ruto in 2022 seems to have rattled the DP. Kirinyaga Central MP Joseph Gitari said the region will support Ruto should Jubilee win next year. Ruto is expected to visit Kirinyaga county tomorrow, where he will inspect the Katitu coffee factory in Gichugu constituency. Kirinyaga council of elders chairman Cyrus Githaka said Kirinyaga county and the Kikuyu community will support Ruto because he assisted President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and the region has no option. Political observers say Ruto frequently visits the Mt Kenya region to endear himself to residents in preparation for 2022.
